Elli Tholouli is a psychologist and Compassion Focused therapist with over 15 years of clinical experience with young people and adults. Elli holds a master’s degree in Stress Management and Health Promotion and an undergraduate degree in Art and Psychology from Reading University. She has completed advanced clinical skills training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) with Professor Paul Gilbert and regularly attends CFT trainings. She has also received training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Mentalization Based Treatment.
Elli is also founder of the Greek Centre for CFT.
offers training, supervision and workshops in Compassion Focused Therapy and
Compassionate Mind Training, takes part in research and organizes events to
cultivate compassion in the community. Elli is a member and international
of the Compassionate Mind Foundation, fellow of the International Center
for Compassionate Organizations, and a scientific associate of Athens University and
of Harokopeion University.
Elli is passionate about de-shaming mental health difficulties and helping people deal with self-criticism and understand their difficulties as a part of common humanity. With CFT and creating safeness in the therapy room, Elli helps people approach their difficulties with compassion, courage and even playfulness, practice new behaviours, acquire new skills, and move towards what matters to them. Elli also offers supervision to therapists practicing CFT, with a focus to experiencing the model of CFT in supervision as a way to care for the therapist in the room and deepen clinical skills for the benefit of therapists and their clients.
