Meet Dr. Katie Baird

Dr. Katie Baird is a practising compassion focused therapist, and the founder of the Irish Centre for Compassion Focused Therapy (ICCFT). Katie is a counselling psychologist with over 25 years experience working with young people and adults. Katie trained in the U.S. and has worked in mental health care and academic settings in Ireland for 20 years.

Katie is a Chartered Psychologist with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and a full member of the American Psychological Association (APA). Katie is a member of PSI's Division of Psychologists Specialising in Psychotherapy. She holds a doctorate degree in counselling psychology, a master's degree in professional counselling, and an undergraduate degree in psychology. She has also completed advanced clinical training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) with Professor Paul Gilbert.

Katie's enthusiasm for and commitment to compassion and CFT, and the wish to bring CFT to more people in Ireland, were the inspiration for the establishment of the ICCFT. Katie believes that each individual's life has meaning, and she works to bring warmth, encouragement, and honesty to her therapeutic relationships.
